CANADIAN BASED Cinergex Solutions Limited (Cinergex) has announced that it has secured a contract to supply electricity from a 1,000 Tonne Per Day (TPD) Waste-to-Energy Plant Project to the Electricity Corporation of Ghana.
It said on Wednesday that, the project valued at US$135 million, is to be constructed in Kumasi, the second largest city in Ghana.
At the same time, Cinergex has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tri-Clean Enterprises Inc. (Triclean), of Ontario, Canada, to supply the gasification components, which will be utilized in the Ghana project.
The sub-contract with Triclean is in the amount of US$71 million and supply of the components is expected to commence within the next three months. The companies expect this to be the first of many similar joint ventures to be announced over the next few months.
The companies have agreed to a joint corporate strategy involving the sharing of corporate technologies and management skills of the two companies in order to more aggressively penetrates foreign, and potentially domestic, markets interested in advanced waste-to-energy systems.
Aggressive construction and engineering planning for the Ghana Project is underway.

Triclean has a proprietary technology, the hybrid Thermodynamic Energy Converter (TEC) system, which provides sustainable, reliable and economical solutions for managing solid waste streams, such as municipal garbage, as well as for the effective remediation of contaminated landfill sites. Triclean's hybrid system can safely destroy over 300 of the world's most dangerous contaminants and can safely eradicate medical, pharmaceutical and military wastes.
