Congratulations on Ghana's 50th Birthday from the BBC's new Africa Beyond website

Launching on 6 March, bbc.co.uk/africabeyond will celebrate African arts in the UK, with a special focus on Ghana during this golden jubilee year. The new site brings under its wing the BBC's existing music website Africa on your Street: bbc.co.uk/africaonyourstreet with its CD reviews and gig listings from around London and the UK.

DJ and music promoter Rita Ray kicks off the new website with her preview of Ghana-related events this year There's aninterview with playwright Ama Ata Aidoo whose classic play Dilemma of a Ghost will be revived in London later in the year.You can browse a photogallery of Max Milligan's extraordinary images of Ghana, and read profiles of leading Ghanaians on the UK arts scene.

Africa Beyond carries on the BBC's African web coverage where the Africa 05 festival left off. The BBC and Arts Council are supporting this project to keep a high profile for African arts.
