Buckingam Palace ready for Presiden Kufour

Buckingham Palace the official residence of the British Monarch is set to receive Ghana's President John Agyekum Kufour as he pays an official state visit to Great Britain. This historic invitation at the request of Her Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth II will be from March 13 -15, 2007.

During this visit the President of the republic of Ghana and Mrs Kufour will stay in Buckingham palace with the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. The Buckingham palace is perhaps one of the biggest residences in the world. It has 775 rooms, 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms.

The visit among other things will offer Ghana the opportunity to market it's self to the investor community in the UK. The commonwealthBusiness Council is for instance organising a special roundtable conference atBuckingham Palace on 14th March tofacilitateopportunities for profitable investment in Ghana.The forum will set out the economicadvances made by the country inrecent years and highlight the opportunities available for investment in Ghana. TheCBC Director-General, Dr MohanKaul in an interview said ""We are proud to be participating in President Kufuor's StateVisit and to have been invited to work with Ghana's leadingbusiness institutions,The tide of opinion on Africa is changing rapidly asGovernment's like President Kufuor's reform old structures, takedetermined action against corruption and embrace goodbusiness practice and governance.""

What however is an indication that the Her Majesty the Queen is ready to receive Ghana's President is the fact that both the Union flag and Ghana's flag have been hoisted all over the the entrances to the palace. Ghanaians in London are also ready to welcome our President as he sets foot in London. This is a good time to be a Ghanaian indeed.

Her Majesty the Queen who has experienced Ghanaian hospitality on two occasions and even danced with Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghanas first charismatic President, at the State House function in 1961 is set to welcome President and Mrs Kufour into her home as Ghana celebrates her golden jubilee year.
